Pale Blue Dot
Carl Sagan, Voyager 1, and a whole world held in a single emitted pixel of light.
On 14 February 1990, as Voyager 1 left the planets behind, it turned its camera around one last time. Six billion kilometres away, the Earth was less than a single pixel: a pale blue dot, suspended in a scattered beam of sunlight.
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us.
Sagan asked us to see that every person we have ever loved, and every person who ever lived, lived there. All of it, on a speck of light that was itself only an emission: sunlight, scattered off an ocean, crossing the dark to reach a camera that was already leaving.
That is the feeling EmitDream begins from. From far enough away, a whole life is a small light. It is still a light, and it still arrives.
